In 1967, the Meysen Academy was founded in Japan. The school provided local children an early education learning environment where they were taught through play, stories and singing.
Over the years, through studying and working with linguists, researchers and professionals from around the world, including Stephen Krashen, Meysen’s method of teaching English to Japanese students evolved into what is now known as GrapeSEED.
GrapeSEED is currently used all over the world to teach children English. At the present time, in 19 countries with over 75,000 students!
GrapeSEED began in the United States in 2013 in the state of Michigan and has grown organically, primarily from word of mouth, across the country.
GrapeSEED is used with multilingual learners and many English speaking students, too. Because oral language is so important to literacy success, GrapeSEED is also implemented in many preschools, transitional kindergartens, intervention programs and special education classrooms.
For over 50 years, we have been invested in a singular mission: the success of the next generation. We exist to give parents hope for a better life for their children and teachers the tools they need to be successful. We can transform children’s lives and open a future of great possibilities by empowering them with English. The joyful mission begins with GrapeSEED.
